What's New in the Hoard - 9/6/20
Added 2020-09-06 17:49:42 +0000 UTCWhat's new this week (actually month)? Sadly, I've been very busy this past month with stuff outside of D&D, but still had some time to throw in a few more things into the hoard.
Faces of the Inner Planes (Monster Thursday, CR 1/4, 1, 3, 4, 10, 18)
This Monster Thursday includes 5 elementals, 1 humanoid, and a giant! Not only is there lots of lore about elementals, there is also a lot of information about traveling the Inner Planes!
Alternate Genasi (Lineage Option)
I like Genasi, they don't get enough love and I'm not convinced that the ones provided in the Elemental Evil's Player Companion are very good. This includes a reimagining of the four Genasi found there, as well as four more Genasi based on the other Inner Planes! Say hello to the Ice, Lightning, Ooze, and the Vacuum Genasi!
Asura (Lineage Option)
The Genasi are described as individuals warped by the Elemental Chaos or the energies of the Inner Plane, but what if you wanted to play as the child of a genie? The Asura are just that! As children of such powerful creatures, they gain the ability of a limited wish, allowing them to ask their parents for help and assistance.
Raksheshan (Lineage Option)
What if you wanted to be part rakshasa and part humanoid? Well, I got your covered! This is an offspring of a rakshasa and gains some of the magical immunities of its lineage, and your immunity only gets stronger as you level up.
Shardmind (Lineage Option)
The Shardminds are from 4th edition's Player's Handbook focused on psionics. I'm a fan of these guys as they are a mixture of humanoid and construct and really push the envelope of otherworldly. One of their cooler features is that once per long rest, if they are struck by an attack they can let go of their physical form and become a swirling mass of shards!
Swords of Revealing Light (8th-level Spell)
If you guys ever watched Yu-Gi-Oh, you are familiar with this spell! This creates swords of pure light that outlines creatures and deals radiant damage. It's like fearie fire, but all grown up!
Light of Destruction (5th-level Spell)
Alright, maybe I got excited when I made Swords and I ended up making another Yu-Gi-Oh card into a spell! This is a pure radiant-damage spell that blasts away your enemies in divine light.
Psychons (Monster Thursday, Celestials, CR 1/2, 1, 6, 9, 12, 28)
The latest Monster Thursday featured psychopomps! Death in D&D can be strange and terrifying but with these guides, all souls can reach their final destination in peace. Though, if you are trying to kill death itself, there's a stat block for it. Good luck with Azrael!
Alchemist (Humanoid, CR 1/2)
Sometimes you just need a guy that throws vials of acid and fire around.
Air-Sloop (Vehicle)
A small air-ship for scouting and flying through the air, the wind blowing through your hair! These vehicles are getting used in a small section of my campaign in the Plane of Air. I assume my party will crash it immediately.
Air-Warship (Vehicle)
A much larger air-ship perfect for destruction and devastation. I assume my party, after crashing their sloop, will take over a warship and begin causing all sorts of mayhem in the Plane of Air, as is tradition.
