The Easter that Sucked

I hope everyone had a great Easter. I’m not really going to lie, mine was horrible. I kinda wanted to post today to bring awareness to the date rape drug, GHB, and ketamine. Ladies, fellas, whomever…PLEASE watch your drinks, watch who POURS your drinks, and even if you’re with friends/partner, don’t discount that someone won’t try to manipulate your drinks.

Being roofied is a horrendous feeling. Admittedly, there were some red flags I saw, but I thought, “Nah, I’m with Jim; surely they wouldn’t.” I was wrong. I think it’s important to go with your gut and identify the signs of someone potentially tampering with your drink.

• Excessive questioning. (Are you drunk enough yet? How fucked yo do you wanna get?)
• Not pouring in front of you. (Bartenders who are not willing to pour in front of you.)
• Accepting strangers’ drinks. (Someone buying you a drink without knowing who it is or where it came from.)
• Isolating you from a group. (This goes without saying.)

It’s unfortunate people have to go through this, but I’m glad that in recent years, people have been more open with their experiences. I knew something was wrong after I started slurring my speech and losing control of my motor skills. I fell off the backseat of my car and pinned myself in between the front and backseat. It took Jim about 45 minutes to get me unpinned, because I couldn’t even identify where I was or how to get out. I think I vomited non stop for a solid day and a half as well, and even with my most extreme hangover, you KNOW when your drink has been spiked. Needless to say, it’s made me so paranoid now. I thought this was the first time, but then I remembered back in 2020 when Jim and I went to Fort Myers, we went to a bar there and the bar tendered roofied me. Sigh…life goes on.

At any rate, I sincerely hope you all are doing well, and I hope that everyone has been living their life to the fulllest. Please be safe out there; and never ever doubt your instincts. We have them for a reason!
