Flogging Myself

I’m only posting this here. Honestly, I don’t feel comfortable showing this to anyone on social media.

So, for “The Fairfield Collection”, there is a brutal scene in which my character is inside a bloody bathroom crying. Initially, we decided that she would cut herself out of pain. Well, turns out, it didn’t look good on camera. After some reconsideration, I decided to take things into my own hands.

I asked for Doug’s belt.

I wanted the scene to be realistic, and realistic it was. I took his belt and literally beat the hell out of myself. There were about 10 takes, and my back was so raw, swollen, and bleeding. I will admit, it hurt so bad, but the playback and wild sound was absolutely horrific, in so many ways.

This pic was taken a few days later, but you guts can see how hard I went. My segment, I can say, I pulled out all the hardship and trauma I endured as a child, and channeled into Ava (my character).
