HC: Card Slinger Poll | Beasts of Begginer Island

This post is for all of you who’ve been reading Hidden Class: Card Slinger!
Spoiler Alert: If you’re not caught up with the story, now’s your chance to click away to avoid spoilers!
If you’ve read Hidden Class: Pacifist, you might remember that the beginner region in the Green Country featured five animals: ratans, foxes, badgers, ravens, and boars.
Deckard begins his journey in the Water Caves region, where the set-up is similar, but the beasts are different. For those still here, we’ve already seen three of the five beasts that beginners can encounter on Beginner Island—seagulls, crabs, and turtles.
I already have plans for the fourth beast (no spoilers yet!), but I’d love your help deciding on the fifth.
What kind of creature do you think would be cool to feature in Card Slinger as one of the beasts of Beginner Island?

Thank you so much for those suggestions, Coleman! I did consider penguins, inspired by a recent documentary I watched. Let's see where this goes. :D

2024-12-23 12:41:25 +0000 UTCI’ve gotta say stingray, just cool as heck animals and and there’s some obscure species/types that would make for a nice educational tidbit in the same way there were so many types of crabs for card art

2024-12-19 17:22:22 +0000 UTCSince the current animals suggest a warmer climate I have 2 suggestions. The most hilariously appropriate would be penguins. It would be great to see another low level leader and the existence of an emperor penguin would set deckard’s mind ablaze. If we final challenge of the beach is more aquatic jellyfish seem ideal. They are a simple threat that are easy to avoid in a boat but hard to fight and would keep the ecosystem penned in around the island. Any way you choose it’s easy to see this beach adventure is coming to a new high. With two more creature types to go this island vacation has a lot of life in it yet.
