HC: Pacifist | Conclusion
Added 2024-09-02 10:41:25 +0000 UTCMy dear, dear friends,
With this, we arrive at the end of Roth's journey and the Hidden Class: Pacifist series. Thank you for sticking with me for so many chapters and for all your comments, support, and love. I couldn't hold back the tears as I finished writing this last chapter. Roth became real to me, and it felt good to finally set him free from his prison. I couldn't have done this without you.
I still have to edit book 6 of HCP for publishing, and I've found several points to improve. How did the conclusion feel to you guys? Are there any loose ends that you wish were addressed? Let me know so I can add those as I proofread the book.
What's next?
You might be wondering... but there are so many questions left unanswered! What happens to the Union? The Coliseum? Roth? Make sure you read my new novel then! Muahaha!
After the events of Hidden Class: Pacifist, we delve into my new story: Hidden Class: Card Slinger. I'm happy to announce that you can read the first three chapters of the story. Click this link, and you'll be taken to its index! There won't be a release schedule for it for now, but I want to write as much of it as possible before I release it to the public. Patreons will have early access to this fantastic new adventure set in AstroTerra.
In the meantime, I'll keep releasing Hidden Class: Handyman. If you haven't tried the story yet, click here to do so.
I understand that with the end of HC: Pacifist, instead of releasing the usual seven chapters a week, I'll be going down to 4~5. If you feel this should impact the Patreon membership tiers or you have any feedback, please let me know in the comments below.
Have a great day, friends,
Cássio

I feel like the bit with Loki in rageaholics needs to be on a different timescale to feel accurate. One week just doesn’t feel correct I also would be very tempted to see a bit of what Lin has done while Roth isn’t in game to supervise!

2024-09-03 10:12:51 +0000 UTCThanks for the series. Kinda sad it's done. I'm a fan of multiple chapters after victory, like in Lord of the Rings. It's better closure and more satisfying.

2024-09-02 16:29:41 +0000 UTCI wholeheartedly agree. I think there should be an epilogue. I'm okay with it being like a year in the future. I'd love to see different povs. For example, from Mel's point of view, a conversation with roth. It would be totally fine to have her mention offhandedly how great it was that Lua made it back to her herd. And for Roth to make a light joke that he got a bonus in stats and also a trade agreement! But I do hope that someone finds Zin. Overhearing conversations that casually tie up plot lines isn't necessarily the best device but it is effective. I think it would be nice to get third person partial omniscience from the different characters so we can see how they really feel about Roth. Even though he's going to prison, I hope that Loki/ Barry does finally reconcile and let go of all of that anger and pain. I'm a big fan of the happily ever after! Plus, Roth still hasn't seen his family in real life. Even if it's a year later, I want to see them sitting down to a meal as a family. And that instead of suing the game company, all three brothers have excellent real life jobs.

2024-09-02 14:41:27 +0000 UTCWith the new story bridging the snapcraft series the world feels more interconnected. Honestly as a series this feels a lot like JoJo’s bizarre adventure. There are a bunch of loosely related protagonists who deal with new and exciting problems on a shared world over time. The persistence of old elements while the new has time to shine.

2024-09-02 12:20:10 +0000 UTCMaybe also add in an Epilogue about what Roth will do now that he's free in regards to the game, kind of like a tease that he will return at some point, and whether ot not Loki could still be a future threat, despite his arrest, Roth may still need to stay with the Ogres for security, and thus need to keep playing Astrotera.

2024-09-02 12:18:54 +0000 UTCHi Daniel, Thank you so much for your thoughtful feedback and for pointing out the loose ends you feel need addressing. It’s clear you’ve been deeply invested in Roth's journey, and that means a lot to me as a writer. Let me share a bit about why I chose to end the story here. Like you, I’ve read many LitRPG stories, but I’ve finished only a few. Often, these stories continue until they lose momentum, and I wanted to avoid that with Roth’s journey. To me, an ideal LitRPG story spans about 100 to 300 chapters. Roth's story began with him getting trapped in the capsule, and I felt it fitting that it ends with him finally breaking free. I understand there are some plot points you’d like to see wrapped up. For instance, the Moonlight Herd and the clearing of the Dwarves' names were hinted at in Book 6, and I’ll look to clarify these further during my next round of re-editing. As for the other plot points, I suggest you give my new story a go. You might be surprised. :P This isn’t the last you’ll hear of Roth, the Union, or the world they inhabit. Hints of what happens next will weave into the plot of Hidden Class: Card Slinger, allowing us to embark on a new journey with fresh perspectives while still satisfying some curiosity about Roth’s world. Thank you again for your support and for caring so much about the story. I hope you’ll join me for the adventures to come!

2024-09-02 11:55:14 +0000 UTCI understand that all stories must come to an end but there is so much left unfinished! Events such as: Reuniting Lua with the Moonlight herd Gaining the next 2 professions Finishing the [clear the names of the dwarf exiles] quest Exploring Crownia Meeting the Corvid Emperor and the Den Mother Completing part of the endgame storyline Roth's second meeting with the Table The ramifications of his underground highway Visiting the Core and Roths bet with Loki to reach level 100 it feels like this is more the end of an arc than the series end. I was expecting Loki to use his spies in the union to attack the factions Roth made peace with to uspend some of his bonuses, use an item to discover how he got his race and spill the beans to everyone, or hack into the pod again and make the level 100 thing another requirement? I'm just getting the feeling you're ending the story here to make time for Cardslinger and Handyman.
