The Descent BTS

Got the floor done; put trash bags on the wall, and next Sunday we are going to make magic.

I need an opinion, though. We were testing lighting, and we can’t necessarily figure out which direction to go with the light.

Hard light or Soft light?

With the feel of the shoot—it could easily go one way or the other. Now personally, I want to choose a harsher light to convey a really psychologically damaging effect. Therefore, maybe a bluish type light (in picture) maybe the best bet. We were very indecisive about which to choose. Jim thinks softer, and Anthony, was…stoned. Lol.

So I beg the question: what do you all think? If you have any suggestions or opinions, I’m all ears. Fuck those losers on the Gram that keep unfollowing me for sCaRy ReElS. For now on, any opinions i need I’m coming here.

I definitely think it’s possible. I want this set to be psychologically unbearable. Unbeknownst to Anthony, he’s going to have to eat regurgitated mincemeat 😈

Cory Cowley

Honestly that’s hard to say without knowing your actual vision. Is it possible to do both? And then you can look over the finished product and see which you prefer.

Jaded_Swan

That’s actually a very good point. So, you think more of a harsher effect as well?

Cory Cowley

That’s kind of the original idea I had. Like Silent Hill type stuff.

Cory Cowley

I agree with you and James. Harsher lights. I’m a fan of that hospital lighting effect with my gore.

And we have your 6. My opinion is the way you edit (which I’ve blatantly and shamelessly copied) requires a stronger light correct? Plus it’s easier to soften the light in editing than it is to go the opposite way.
