[ Patron / Ko-Fi Donor Benefits ] Chihayafuru Kami no Ku Deluxe Edition Special Disc Soon

Checking our logs, the Chihayafuru Kami no Ku Special Disc unofficial fan English subtitling project was initiated last December 2017. It was so hard to push through the project since it was very daunting to finish. In the end, the group chat died around late August 2019. From it, five out of ten of the significant videos with new content have been pre-timed with blanks and still need translations, onscreen timings, editing, typesetting, and QC.

Though with the inspiration of a colleague making unofficial fan English subtitles of some of his discs, along with seeing a fan posting English subtitled clips of the Chihayafuru Kami no Ku Deluxe Edition's Special Disc on X/Twitter, we more or less decided to give this project a go again.

These are the more significant contents we already started working on and, hopefully this time, we will release in the Chihayafuru Kami no Ku Deluxe Edition Blu-Ray set:

Along with the above, we will also release the previously unreleased quality checked version of the main movie, Chihayafuru Kami no Ku, which has been stuck since pre-pandemic.

But around November 2021, as much as possible, we have decided to stop distributing the original media we are making unofficial fan English translations (since the occurrence of what happened to a group we highly consider as senpai, senior, and colleague). Instead, we will release in public our unofficial fan English translations only, as much as possible.

Along with that, we highly highly encourage everyone to support the official media. You can get the Chihayafuru Kami no Ku Deluxe Edition from CDJapan or Amazon Japan, especially now that the Japanese Yen seems to be quite affordable.

Since these are exclusive contents, as we personally searched far and wide in the internet if they are available and they're not, Patrons and Ko-Fi donors, old and new, can "avail" the raws with the following conditions:

1. The Chihayafuru Kami no Ku Deluxe Edition Special Disc raws would be customized to each patron / ko-fi donor, and will only be sent through PM or email. The patron / ko-fi donor should never re-upload and re-share them. They will be encoded in 1080p / h264 / aac / mkv or mp4 format.

2. The patron / ko-fi donor should have donated 50.67 USD so far. To explain, it is 88% of the original price of the media during the time of release. Checking CDJapan's listing of Chihayafuru Kami no Ku Deluxe Edition, it was released on September 28, 2016 and costs 5800 JPY. Checking the JPY-USD exchange rate on that day, it was 1 JPY = 0.009928 USD. Computing, (5800 × 0.009928 ) × 0.88 = 50.67 USD. (Honestly, since the JPY exchange rate is relatively affordable these days, it would be much cheaper if you buy the original media instead if you haven't donated at all yet.)

3. In the event that you choose to acquire the raws from us, and have donated enough or more than the amount in lifetime pledge or donation, it would be noted and "deducted" to the amount that next time we will work on releasing exclusive content such as this.

4. In the event that you choose to acquire the raws from us, and the amount you have donated is not enough, you should pledge or donate the amount that you lack.

Honestly, it is best to just buy the official media of Chihayafuru Kami no Ku Deluxe Edition at CDJapan or Amazon Japan. They are cheaper and much affordable than above currently with how the Japanese Yen is affordable.

Our target date of release would be on TL-Skeweds' 18th Anniversary, November 18, 2024, or earlier, depending on the load of the current team.

Hopefully, this is a start of the very many extras TL-Skeweds will work on and actually release. For now, the Chihayafuru live action series is high priority. After that, we will most likely list down the discs with extra content we bought and own over the years. Then, we'll have a poll here on Patreon what extras we will work on next.
