Final Octagon motion wip bfr/other info

Hello!

First of all, I've completely reanimated the bj part, this time with good ol' manual labor. Previously I tried to automate it, but it just kept fucking up.. No more.

The ending has been set in stone, no more scraping and redoing anything.. I've previously wasted an enormous amounts of time trying to create mechanically impossible sequences for the stupid sake of originality. Remodeled Allison's hand wraps because they were embarrassingly badly modeled the first time. In fact I was so into working on this that I completely zoned out and forgot I had that tracer/dva bj lined up, but I can only work on one thing at a time.

This time I firmly believe the whole thing is in a state where I can finally start the fun part - baking and polishing! OMG, I can't believe it took so long to get here!

Now for the money things.. Support is fading, people are leaving, I can't blame them. Patience is finite, but I have only two options - either I post low effort garbage in high volume, or continue as I have, taking my time on things..

I've been walking on fumes for over a year now and while the two commissions this summer were extremely helpful, the money that was meant for audio instead went into unplanned expenses or in HL2 terms "Unforeseen consequences",but it's also a temporary fix, I need something more stable.. So, as of the time of this post, I'm changing the tier prices from €1 to €2 and €3 to €5 for new members. (I was gonna do that 2 years ago, but couldn't bring myself to do it. But now inflation has forced my hand.)

Nothing changes for those who joined before this post! (you guys are still on old rates(€1 & €3).

As for the people on the voluntary €10 tier.. I love you guys, would be lost without you.

Anyone have any thoughts? Have I made the right choice? Or maybe there's just something in the wip that looks off (besides the obvious)? :D

Hey everyone.

-Stuff has been happening, good and bad.

Rearranging project priorities due to the eevee-next engine being garbage at this time

thus I'll be resuming work on the octagon hell of a lot sooner while I wait for the stupid engine fixes.

-I'm also doing a pretty much complete Vega character redesign/upgrade to get ready for Brigitte x Vega part two. Still need to remodel the hair.

(I'll post a Vega thingy shortly anyway.)

-I've discovered that geonodes can provide soft collisions with ripples, researching that in near future.

-There's a hole in my budget, courtesy of a 6mm kidneystone and other unplanned expenses, hindering my ability to commission audio at this time.

I'm again opening a poster commission slots to "fill the hole".

Hey, brace for disappointment.

I didn't realize I forgot to mention in a patreon post, but I took a much needed vacation , completely devoid of blender. I've done that before except this time I didn't pause any pledges for financial reasons I was avoiding like the plague to address publicly.

Yes, octagon could have been done already, but if aion was any indication, the audio is going to cost a kidney (I have to commission 3 different people) and everything I saved up for that last year went to last winter's heating bills and spring taxes. I need the audio before I can animate any breathing/lipsync. Most I can do right now is turd polish the thing. So you see, I'm in sort of a tight spot.. Last thing I ever wanted to do was to bitch about financials, but there you go..

To supplement the SFX fund, I'm opening 2 [$70+ per] poster commission slots if anyone's still interested.

Octagon motion WIP #4.5

I'm admit to failure. I completely zoned out doing the tracer and didn't even realize the last wip was two months ago. I was also experiencing heavy case of artist's block (have had it before, but not nearly as long as this time), I had not fcking clue how to progress from the cowgirl position .

The scenery doesn't help either, I'm sick of staring at it.
Aion was fun! So was that Embers (brig solo) and Vegaraphy, very fun to work on.. But this, eh, I don't even watch MMA... I'm putting an end to it. Brigitte will koom in Allison's ass and maybe on her back and Allison will koom in Brigitte's throat and that will be the end of it.

In the following few weeks, I'll start commissioning the audios and do the usual pre-release stuff... I sincerely thank you for sticking with me so far. <3

I hate making the beach.

Just two renders this time, I got super sick of the beach halfway through doing the 3rd one.. I done goofed, beach scenes suck. Fck this, Lena and Dva anims will be indoors. Indoor scenes are faster, easier and way more fun to model.
Now I switch back to animating the octagon until I get sick of it again.

I done goofed. I've been doing nothing but obsessively work on the Hana and Lena (Lena not ready) models every day for the past month and I completely forgot to animate the other thing.
I'll try and force myself to not model and animate instead, I'll have a motion wip in mid Feb. Again, I'm moderately sorry I can't provide a motion wip at this time, but the Hana model turned out really well because of it.
Lena is halfway done, remodeled and rerigged her big, fat, sloppy burger... Just need to texture it. Gonna have to remodel the hair, it's kinda shit (as seen in the venom animation) and the top is kinda shit too, gonna redesign that as well.
Also need to remodel the feet, um, no wait, already did that last week.
Uhh, see how easily I get distracted? I need to focus. I need to animate!

This is the curse of a generalist, you spend a buttload of time on many different things and you end up temporarily deviating from your main purpose, welp.

You'll have to excuse me for the background, I started modeling and texturing the skatepark just a week ago and it's not lit yet/ textures need sum srs refining. Deviated from the horrendous OW body proportions, me thin it looks a lot better this way.
long story short  - dva and tracer will be doing tiktoks (not actual tiktoks).

Octagon motion WIP #3+

Hey! I hope all enjoyed your Christmas!
I'm exhausted so I'll cut this short.
Whether or not I'm procrastinating is up for debate, but I really believe I've done a metric f-ton this month even if I have no render to show for it yet. +This is the first time I've used FK to animate limbs (ikr, mind blow wtf) Had to redo the push sequence so many times before I realized I can just FK that part..I feel rekt, I'll take a day or two off just chilling/restarting.
Let's hope the next year is a lot more productive in the finished render department.

Octagon motion WIP #2

Hello, wonderful people.

I've struggled, with many things in this project. Things that should have been straight forward, but proved themselves to be infuriatingly hard to get right.
Yada, yada, yada.. Long story short - attachment. (If it seems like not much, please compare to the last wip.)
I tried to make a transition where Allison picks up Brig by her head and throws her back like a rug-doll, did not work out and was just time wasted so now she just kick-pushes her back.
Brigitte's mouth with the BJ is a considerable time-waster too. Tried to automate it, did not work out well no matter what I do, so I guess I'm doomed to waste time adjusting it manually.

Btw, once again, to avoid burnout, I've started to reconstruct another top secret character that I'm not ready to show the progress of yet (DVa).

In other/unrelated news - stuff is getting more and more expensive and it's getting exceedingly hard to keep up without taking out loans as I'm not exactly making private islands over here.. So I'm considering commissions/auctions? If I were to do that, I'm very much braindead on what prices to set. Planning in early stages.

I'd like to also thank you all for your support! Especially those who are pledged for custom amounts, you guys keep the mold off my walls. <3

Splooring (wat?)

Hello!


After much work of modeling/texturing the scene and fixing the characters (among other things) and considering how much time passed just from doing that alone..
It seems insane for me to actually animate the buildup. A fighting sequence would be way harder to do than ...you know. And would take an enormous amount of time!
So instead I made this image pack as a substitute. After all, we're here not to watch them fight, but to fak, right?
I'm sorry if my previous post was misleading (but, well, technically this is sort of a wip..) and that this took so long once again, but now it is time for me to work on the aaactual animation.

I hate to disappoint, but I have not done much animating this month.
Definitely not enough to constitute a motion wip.
I could say that it's because of the accident I had almost 3 weeks ago, but no..
The truth is I've been distracted, putting almost all of my blender time into Brigitte model upgrades and poster content.
I know some of you are tired of slow animation progression, but as much as I'd love to, I can't pull out a finished thing out my *ss that isn't poopgrade,,
My hope is that I can produce worthy wip in the first hald of next month, once I get Brigitte out of my system.
Welp, at least I can roll out a few posters this month still, standby.

WM Motion wip B / other

Hi!

I'm sorry about the lack of content. I'd usually would make a poster when I'm getting burned out by animating, but at this time I'd rather work on improving the Brigitte model. (I've mentioned it before I think, I'm sorry if it sounds like I'm repeating myself.)

Unlike the Widowmaker, the Brigitte model is fat older and way more outdated, lots of topology and rig issues, hair needs fixing too.. Frankly I'm surprised that I could manage the content that I did with it.
My intention was to finish it this month, but it still needs a lot more work. When I'm done with it tho, there will be a marathon of Brigitte content that involves blacksmithing, MMA and getting Ft in the A (or M).

As for the WM animation, once again I'm making animating more complicated for myself than than it needs be, eh. Same old, same old..
But I have to be careful because further animating may or may not screw up something in earlier frames (so far I've been able to more or less prevent that).

In April, I intend to finish up the climax and start turd-polishing (maybe even sound stuff).

WM Motion wip A

Hello!
Right off the bat, I am not working on any posters right now. Instead I'm putting as much time as I can working with this animation. I've come up with some procedural  animating tricks to which tutorials do not even exist! Best part is those tricks don't leave any cyclic dependencies this time (and you know how I hate those). I'm also intermittently working to improve the Brigitte model, so there's that..
