Change of Tiers? Patreon Hiatus? Both?

tl;dr version:
- Change of Tiers (again?!)
- Patreon (semi-)hiatus (but knowing the main coordinator, me, Ais, not really)

With the pandemic not being fundemic in this part of the globe where I live, honestly, my mental health getting worse, along with other things I have responsibilities to attend to, mostly school and source of living, adding things that I personally feel bad that I, Ais, don't give out translations as fast I used to anymore, I think it's right that I let you all know.

Knowing our track record since TL-Skeweds was formed and made its first release (November 2006 (Oh man, it's going to be our 14th Anniv soon)), there really are years and months where there is vast amount of releases and we were really productive. Heck, the change of the group name also started that we change to softsubs. And if you have noticed, we changed the name again from SkewedS to Skeweds, as in, plural of Skewed now - with the change the softsubs are now in eternal beta.

This also shows that no matter how long the hiatus of the group is, I, Ais, the main coordinator, kept coming back. For me, it's a very fun hobby to translate.

What I was thinking at first was changing the tiers. The benefits in the 8 USD tiers will move to 4 USD thus deleting the 8 USD tiers. However, the voting of the poll questions will be moved to the 1 USD benefits. In other words, only two tiers:
- 1 USD - Japanese subtitles, Patreon-exclusive English subtitles that has notes, can vote in a poll
- 4 USD - alpha version English subtitles + all the ones at 1 USD

The problem with that is I am not sure if I am going to be /that/ active again any time soon till I sort things out with my life, Ais, the main coordinator of the group.

Kindly remember - We're doing this for free, as in freedom, so I hope you also tip us with your own freedom too.

After research, I have to keep at least one tier in Patreon to still remain undeleted. We still have a bunch of releases down the pipe and with all the thanks of you people, they are possible (especially the ones that the raws are hard to find so we really put your donations to good use).

I, Ais, thank you deeply for sticking out with us till now. No way this is a goodbye.

Comments

I understand. I too was affected by the pandemic and had to lower my tier down recently due to my income. I hope you can get well and happy again, whether that means you come back or not, though I will miss you!
