June 18 - Water's Reflection

This week's session was a long one and I essentially wrote 1.5 songs. I started with a chill and emotional intro and followed up with an upbeat and bouncy drop. Both ideas were built off the same initial chord progression, but they felt like 2 different songs. After stream I spent some time making a more laid-back drop that fit better with the intro and I consider that to be the best version of what I wrote. That said, I like the more upbeat drop a lot (starts at 2:15, drop is 3:21 in the preview above) and it would be cool to build a different song around that at some point.

As chat mentioned on Wednesday towards the end of stream - these 2 song ideas feel like they could be the beginning and end of an EP. They feel related, but different and I'd like to explore that if I can find the time. Overall, I will be returning to finish one (or both) of these ideas at some point!

What do you think? - Which version do you like more? Do you like the idea of an EP or A/B release that has 2 different takes on a song? And is this an idea you want me to finish? Download of both versions is attached and the WIP Archive has been updated!

As always, thank you so much for supporting me. A new release "Life Can Never Break Me" went live yesterday and is available everywhere today! Enchanted releases next week and the Patreon and Bandcamp versions will have 22 original songs and over 50 total tracks including extra versions! Have a great weekend and I'll see you on stream this afternoon to celebrate the release!

I can see it go both ways. But I like the idea of the first part being the start of an EP, and the last part of this song be an epic finale of sorts for that same EP.

Definitely like the idea of A/B songs for this.
