Oct 25 - Sleeping Awake
Added 2023-10-26 16:29:02 +0000 UTCThis week I went for something different. I started out with drums and spent a lot of time making the groove. After that I wrote some chords and starting adding layers and an arrangement.
I think some of the individual parts of this song are good, but I don't think they come together to make a good song. This was a fun session and I might repurpose some of the parts, but I don't think I'll be returning to this.
What do you think? Are these downtempo ideas something you'd like to see more of? Is this a nice change of pace? And would you like to see me branch out into more unique styles like this?

It was fun to experiment in a different style, but I definitely think I can do better. Taking some of these parts and adding a bit more of a traditional Approaching Nirvana spin on it would be nice. Great hearing from you - been awhile and I hope you're well :)

2023-10-27 05:08:47 +0000 UTCThis one makes me think of Pogo; the beat, baseline, mood, synth, all of it! I'm sure that's not what you were going for, but that's just what I hear :P Idk, maybe throw in a handful of vocal chops and really lean into the Pogo vibes, haha.
