Sept 13 - From Whence We Came
Added 2023-09-14 15:33:12 +0000 UTCThis week I am out of town with my girlfriend visiting our university campuses together. Many of you know I went to Virginia Tech and I haven't been back since I graduated. The campus is beautiful and during my time here I went through a lot, both personally (as we all do during university) and I was here in 2007 when the shooting happened. Needless to say, this is a very important place to me.
This idea is simple because I haven't had much time to write, but the chord progression reflects a lot complex emotions: melancholy, change, challenge, reflective, sad, happy, proud, and more. It doesn't necessarily fit in with any of the themes for Sept/Oct but I thought it would be okay during my trip.
I'm not sure that I'll finish this but the idea is a snapshot of emotions at the moment. University was so long ago for me - another lifetime, really. I knew none of you, but it was the beginning of what Approaching Nirvana would become. I feel so removed, yet so connected...
Anyhow, what do you think? - Is this idea strong enough to finish? Is this simple sketch of my emotions at the time something you'd like to see more of? Let me know in the comments!
