Evil Dead 2 (1987) - Full Length MOVIE REACTION

Hullo hullo! Today I have the full length unedited Evil Dead 2 (1987) MOVIE REACTION for you :) This was chosen by my monster patron Jason as well as the YT community whom widely requested that I watch the 2nd evil dead. My YT upload schedule has changed a bit so I'll be putting out the updated schedule soon. Ended up moving some reactions around but I am still watching all of the sequels I had originally planned plus some more bonus reactions including Terminator 2 which is a reupload from July.

I hope you enjoy this reaction, I'll share the edited reaction soon when I finish it and that will be available for ghouls and monsters <3

Evil Dead 2 (1987) - Full Length MOVIE REACTION

Comments

Ash fighting his severed hand is full on Tom and Jerry cartoon levels of comedy.

Ashley

the bridge thing is a bit of a plot hole. I will admit. BUT they had to show the bridge to show that Ash is trapped in the cabin.

Ashley

The thing is that you can completely ignore the recap. At the end of the first movie ash leaves the cabin and is attacked by an invisible entity. Evil Dead 2 really begins when ash is struck by the invisible entity as he leaves the cabin. This explanation comes from the King himself. Bruce Campbell. The reason they couldn't use footage from the original film is because they didn't have the rights to the original. So they reshot it and simplified events. Even the television series Ash vs Evil Dead suffered from this, they weren't allowed to even reference the events of Army of Darkness until like the last season because of weird rights issues.

Ashley

Now that you mentioned Liar Liar, I cant help but imagine Jim Carey as Ash.

Deadly Mouse

I'm so glad you liked Evil Dead 2. Now readjust for more inconsistent fun and a whole lot less horror and more high fantasy slap stick starring the human chin himself. Please, please if you don't make it to the shows, at least finish with Army of Darkness or else you'll strangely feel lopsided all your days.

The rest of the World know that film as "Braindead", But i agree, it's a corny, gory, horror comedy that's has some really funny moments....."Stand back son, i kick ass for the Lord".....and as for the lawnmower, tres Bon

It’s a good different, change is good 😉

FranciscoGios

His makeup was pretty freaking cool, those prosthetics they used around his eyes looked awesome!

I didn't recognize him! Still editing this reaction so I went back and watched that part again, thats wild!

The beginning recap really threw me off but once I got the first evil dead out of my head it made it easier to watch lol

Thank you Tom! This movie was hilarious, totally different from the first Evil Dead but I appreciate it for what it is.

Hopefully not a bad different! I just like changing my hair once in a while :)

A few years before Peter Jackson directed the much-acclaimed Lord of the Rings trilogy, he directed a horror/comedy called Dead Alive, which had to be inspired somewhat by the Evil Dead movies. I would say that Evil Dead 2 has more laughs than Dead Alive thanks to the silliness and absurdity of some scenes (and the vocal sound effects coming from the bodies and body parts), but if you're in the mood for an over-the-top splatterfest (and who isn't?), Dead Alive is the way to go. Who could have guessed that a lawnmower could be such an effective weapon against zombies?

John Walters

Wonderful! and now you HAVE to watch Army of Darkness! yeah, this is a sequel, and a reboot, and comedy horror hybrid mashup, but I love it and the first one so much, and I'm enjoying watching you watch it and it's crazy antics that switch between slapstick and jump scare. keep up the good work!

Tom R

I don’t know why but I separate The Army of Darkness movie to Evil Dead 1 & 2. Is it just me or do you look kind of different with your black hair I don’t know I’m just use to your red hair.

FranciscoGios

It’s my next pick as well.

Jason Nunez

The recap is actually at the beginning of the next movie. The Army of Darkness. Evil Dead two is more like a reboot since they couldn't make a straight up sequel due to not having the rights to the first movie.

Future_Boy85

Always was more of a sequel/reboot than a pure sequel. Also the knight who lifted his visor and declared Ash the saviour was Sam Raimi. Third film is even more slapstick than this. Definitely worth a watch though.

Dave Callan

Did you recognise Sam Raimi at the end? Hail he who has come from the Sky to deliver us from the terrors of the deadites. Hail to the king baby.

I read somewhere that no one would sit near Ash when he was in his possessed makeup

The trick with this movie is it is silly but still scary and horrifying. Sam Raimi, the Director was always a huge fan of slapstick comedy. I think , if the film had been straightforward horror, none of us would have made it through.

Oh I am so excited
