May 10 - Overcast

I wanted to write something different this week so I returned to a style I've written a lot of over the last few years - piano/progressive house. During the session I was  more granular than usual, experimenting with a few new things to get some drum layers and FX going. Overall, I think the idea came together nicely.

I do like this, but this style isn't at the top of my list to return to since I've just released an entire album like it (ie - Blocking the Sky Redux). The lead melody could also be better and it's obviously missing a lot of details. But it's a good idea nonetheless so I could see myself returning to it at some point.

But what do you think? - Is a change of a pace from the upbeat, uplifting stuff good? Do you want more laidback, house stuff? And should I try and finish this one? Let me know in the comments :)

Download is attached and WIP Archive has been updated.

As always, thank you for your support! No stream tomorrow as I'm out of the studio. Have a great weekend and I'll see you next week for another production stream!

The vibe of this song is awesome :D

I agree with you. It distracts from the melody. Its a bit like a metronome standing next to your ears. Not negative but to loud imo

I really like the kicks (got that sweet short and tight feeling) in that one, just not sure if they fit the melodic piano that well at the current state of the track (too clicky and in your face compared to the piano imo). They would feel more at home at a liquid d'n'b track I think.
