Dec 7 - Less is More
Added 2022-12-08 16:05:28 +0000 UTCThis month we're writing motivational/driving/persevering songs and while this fits in that category, it's definitely on the lighter/uplifting side. My starting point for this song was melodic dubstep at 100bpm, but I'm not sure how well it worked.
I like the intro & verse enough but the "drop" isn't strong. While FX and automation would definitely fill this out, this isn't my favorite recent idea. This gives me Awake to Find vibes and I might return to it at some point, but it's very low priority at the moment.
But what do you think? - Is this style something you'd like to see more of? Let me know in the comments :)

That bass line cutting in/out does kinda remind me of Awake to Find, I agree, but beyond that it's pretty unique. I really like the change of melody in the drop, as in the beginning it seemed a little repetitive. I think the only thing the drop could benefit from is a slight beat change in the second bar, but otherwise I think it's great as is, not overly flashy/hype. IDK, I'm just one guy, but I think this idea is stronger than you give it credit for. ;) Edit; another idea for the drop could be little "modulating FX shifts/compression" if you wanted to add a little extra flavor. Something sort of like the drop in "Monster" for example.
