May 4 - Looking Up
Added 2022-05-05 14:31:00 +0000 UTCThis month we're writing Happy / Upbeat / Summer-y songs and today's idea turned out really well. It came together very quickly and while it's still very rough around the edges the whole idea is laid out!
This feels very nostalgic and reminiscent of the stuff I was writing in 2012/2013. Honestly, this style is something I've purposefully stayed away from for awhile now in an effort not to sound "cheesy" haha. But with better production skills these days, I'm feeling a lot more satisfied with this idea and I'd be down to write more like this.
All in all, I think this idea is pretty solid! It's definitely catchy and the synth melody in the verse bits is actually a melody I wrote on stream for a vocal - which I think would work very well for this song.
I'm definitely going to try and finish this and hopefully work with a vocalist. What do you think? - Is this song as good as it feels to me?

I personally will always have a soft spot for your older stuff and this fits right there in that spot. I can't wait to see this one finished and just ask if you need anything sorta deal as always.
