March 23 - Kinetic (Drum and Bass)
Added 2022-03-24 18:30:54 +0000 UTCThis week I wanted to create something more upbeat and contrasting to a lot of the previous chill ideas. I started with drums and then wrote a few chord ideas. After coming up w/ a decent chord progression, I started on sound design and began adding more layers. At the end of the stream, I put together a basic arrangement for the drop which is what you hear in this version.
This idea is decent, but not as promising as the other ones I wrote this month. I'm less sure about returning to this one but it's definitely possible. What do you think? Is this idea good enough to return to? - let me know in the comments :)

I really like this one but, funny enough, I feel like the weakest part is actually the melody. It sounds kind of generic and a little boring – whereas the arp and deep 8th-notes bass is more compelling to me.
