March 16 - Afraid of Life
Added 2022-03-17 16:36:50 +0000 UTCThis week we're continuing with writing some drum & bass. I started with drums and then wrote a few chord progressions. After choosing a progression, I added extra layers and some rough arrangement.
Someone on stream mentioned the chords sounded a bit like Nine Inch Nails and I can definitely hear the resemblance. Probably the use of a Major & Minor of the same chord in a progression (think like Deadmau5 - Some Chords). I also came across the dialog line randomly in my sample library and decided to add that because it's been awhile since I've used a spoken word sample on a song. It's a bit repetitive at the moment, but I think it fits nicely!
Anyway, I really like this idea - it's chill but got a different vibe than what I've been writing recently. I've been saying this a lot lately; this is another project that I'd like to return to at some point.
But what do you think? - Should I try to finish this?

Daaamn... this is SOOO pleasant. I really, really hope you return to/finish this one. With how many soft DnB tracks you've been starting recently, I feel like you could make a full-on EP of this style. Reminds me of some of Keeno's older, softer stuff. I need it in my life.
