The vote is still tied for this month, so this week I set out to write a "Sad / Emotional / Melancholy" idea. I started out with chords and came up with something that had promise and went from there. I tested the chords out in different genres and eventually settled on Deep House since it felt the most natural.

From there I wrote some drum parts, some melodies, a bass part, and some other supporting parts. After some experimenting I did a basic arrangement and ended up at the version you hear above.

This idea is pretty cool! It's not super sad, but I do think it's melancholy and reflective. I think this has some promise, so I might return to it in the future. What do you think? - Is this something you'd like to see me finish? Let me know in the comments.
