July 14 - Don't Look Down (2nd Session)

Hey everyone - this is the first of several 2nd sessions we're doing on stream this month. The original song was from April 21.

Most of the work here was in FX and background layers and though progress was a bit slow, the song is sounding much fuller. I have a more solid idea of where I want the song to go as well as a few thoughts/changes moving forward. If you want to see how the session went, you can watch the stream VOD.

I think the builds can be lengthened. Reintroducing the arpeggio on a synth sounds really cool and I think upping the tension with another 8 bars of build with a lot more FX will make the drop more impactful. The intro is good, but I'd like to try some other elements like brass or something else orchestral in the background. The drop is still pretty good but needs small fills in the gaps of the melody. I am worried though that the drop is currently the weakest part of the song, but I don't want to change anything major there until I finish the production stage of the project.

I'm definitely going to continue working on this, but what do you think? Is the drop still strong? Do the other parts of the song flow well? - let me know in the comments or on Discord!
