Apr 7 - Piano DnB (Metamorphosis)
Added 2021-04-08 16:43:50 +0000 UTCFirst song idea of April! Since you voted for me to write songs of my choice for April, I chose some piano Drum and Bass this week. If you want to see how the song developed, check the VOD on Twitch.
My main goal with this session was to start with the drop so I don't end up with a placeholder section of the main part of the song again. I also wanted to start with percussion first so I don't get bogged down by it later in the project. After that, I moved on to some chords and melodies and came up with this! It's quite far along but the arrangement needs work (there's no intro) and there also isn't any FX.
What do you think of this idea - should I revisit it? And what type of song should do you think I should write next stream?
Speaking of next stream, I'm moving to a new place on Saturday. I'm hoping I won't have to adjust my work schedule, but there's a small possibility I will have to cancel 1 or both streams next week if I need more time to get set up at the new place. I'll let you know here or on Discord and if I don't stream, I'll still post a WIP for you guys to listen to next week :)

I really like the upbeat energy and the tempo of this song with stretches of calm smooth piano chords between the high energy theme. I think it might be effective to have more of the main high energy theme in the middle of the rather long calm stretch that begins at about 1:07. That calm stretch changes character at around 1:30 and again at around 1:52, if you were to put more energetic bits in between those, I think that might work well.
