Fresh Start - WIP Week 3
Added 2020-03-13 16:24:02 +0000 UTCProduction VOD is up on Twitch. Overall, the song is really coming together - here are some thoughts on the current version:
The Good
- The pacing is much better here and everything feels smoother and more coherent after initial FX were added.
- The drums in the verse are good (not great). I like the live drum set feel but it's not exactly right.
- The shortened intro is much better now and gets right to the point.
- Verse piano adjustments and the addition of a guitar feel a lot more natural.
- Overall, I think the drop with the new adjustments flows better overall.
The Stuff I'm Not Happy With
- Need another FX pass to make things better.
- Need another layer to the drop bass, especially in the first section.
- Some new sound design needs to happen for the B part at the end.
- Better fills and transition elements.
- Build needs a lot of work.
- Verse percussion needs another pass.

Next week I'll be focusing on another FX pass and addressing the rest of the stuff above. If I find time, I'll extend the arrangement as well.

Maybe use a drum sound with a little less snare rattle at the beginning (slightly tighter snare tension). But love the sound. Can't wait to hear what the final product will evolve to be π -Jenn
