Weekly Update #9

Hey Everyone!

I've got 2 new WIPs and 2 updated projects to show you today!

• 0:00 - Overcome: I wrote this one for a friend that's going through a tough situation. Wanted something simple that made you feel like you can make it through. It still needs a lot - especially in the drop section, but I'm really digging it so far!
• 2:14 - Vin: This one was inspired by the main character in a book I've been reading over the past few months (Mistborn). Her character has trouble trusting people because of her past and she struggles to create real connections with some of the supporting characters as the story progresses. So far this one turned out pretty good but I am going to double the length of the drop and add a LOT more (definitely a proper bass to the drop too).
• 3:23 - Antigua (Update): I wanted a mixed and mastered version to send out to vocalists and this is that version! There are still some very minor adjustments I want to make, but I'm saving that for when I have vocals. I'll be sending this out to several vocalists next week!
• 5:25 - Circle Back (Update): I wrote and recorded the vocals for the 2nd half of this song. I'm not a huge fan of the literal recording on this, but I just wanted something quick for demo purposes. Next Monday I'll be spending time recording and mixing final vocals for the whole song. Also, I've done an initial mix and master on this version. I'm hoping to have this one finalized before I leave Denver next Wednesday!

1st Half:
The Carolina wind blows, salty smell in my nose. Close my eyes and let it lift me up.
The heavy clouds are moving, walking towards the coastline. Looking like it’s time to pack it up.

2nd Half (what you hear in this week's update):
The Colorado sunlight, Illuminates the tree line. Close my eyes and let it warm me up.
The blue goes on forever, [like] an empty page to write on. Circle back, it’s time to fill it up.

Pretty happy with this currently, but I may make some small changes before my recording session on Monday.
