I still remember my Toshiba Portege with great fondness.

It was fun going back through that list of early computers. I had to test my software on many of those. But I was unaware of their histories!
You were surprised Flight Simulator was that early. Clever software, though the earliest versions were fairly primitive in graphics. It was notorious for being specific to the IBM PC, as also Lotus 1-2-3 was, so it became the favorite demo in shops to prove a clone was compatible. The shops would leave it running a demo loop, since it attracted more attention than running a spreadsheet!
