According to his official profile he loves to eat Currywurst. I love it, too.

Currywurst is a fast food meal, invented after WW2 in Berlin.
I also think, that he is not originally from Stuttgart, because his character traits do not fit with what is typical for people of that city or federal state.
With his direct and honest style he could be a Rhinelander, Hessian or Berliner. In the german language location of the game they also gave him a (horrible) southern german dialect, although there is not stated where he really comes from. -_-
Did you also recognize that Reinhardts look strongly resembles Odin?! A huge bearded daddy who lost an eye.
Odin is also an origin of Santa Clause - or they are one and the same person. Who knows?! Missionaries tried hard to convert people from northern europe centuries ago, but failed several times. XD
