KINGS JOURNAL: ANIME (TIMELINE)

This Kings Journal is about fun and a bit personal (in a good way). I wanted to make something about anime. Although you haven´t seen any anime nsfw art drawn by me, yet - it doesn´t mean I haven´t watched any shows or don´t like them. The truth is: I watched tons of anime! And in preparation of this journal, as I thought about all the shows I´ve seen, I felt like TV raised me. XD

So I chose a small collection of animes I gonna show you today with their openings, lyric translations and a little background info about the show and why there is the word "timeline" in the header.

Let´s begin! ^^

In 1974 a bunch of japanese guys created an animated show called "Heidi". One of them was the (later) famous filmmaker Hayao Miyazaki known as one of the two founders of studio Ghibli. The show still runs regularly in japanese TV until today and the original opening song is known in a lot of karaoke pubs. The show is also very popular and famous in my country and it also runs in TV regurly here for more than 40 years - that´s why adults and children - everybody knows that show in Japan and Germany. You grow up with Heidis story and it was one of the first animes aired in european television.

The next show is also one of my early childhood. It was produced by Spain, Germany, Netherlands, Finland and Japan. The story is inspired by the Netherlands and you can watch the show in a lot of different languages. If you have ever seen it, you might have recognized an evil character who looks like Adolf Hitler! This show features stories about violence, happiness, growing up in general and everything done in way, that children could watch a show about adventures of all kinds.

AND NOW!! Two shows that set the basic for anime success in my country and the first two shows aired here, that look like anime, as everybody pictures it.

After these two shows a lot of animes where aired in Germany. So let´s go to my teenage years and the 1999 and early 2000´s anime shows.

Story: Wealth, power, glory, the man who fought for all of this was called "Gold Roger" the king of pirates: "You wan´t my treasure?!You can have it. Search it! Somewhere I hid the biggest treasure of the world" This treasure, is called "One Piece" and it´s somewhere on the Grand Line. So the big pirate era began.

And now some shows of my late and very late teenage years. They were all aired in the late evening and night. I was pretty tired in school sometimes, because of having had less then 4 hours sleep. For those who are younger you need to imagine, that there was not the opportunity to record everything and the internet was just google and simple weppages. So staying awake was important. ^^

Note: These shows have no lyrics, well they do. Some are english and I have no idea what the other language is in one of the openings. Maybe latin and russian... I really do not know.

This show is kinda demanding, but also a vision of human future, that seems pretty believable. The opening is 3D, but the show is drawn animation.

The next anime is full of guys (could be a reason I watched it^^) and sad. The story is exciting and you do not know where it keeps going until the final episodes, that are very, very sad.

And an anime that fucked my mind! I never knew who could be dead next. It is super violent, with gore and a few breasts. But also a very dark insight of peoples daily life. As my favourite character died, I was terribly shocked and super sad. Later I read, that the anime didn´t follow the original manga and I started to read it. My favourite character from the show... well no spoilers here! ^^ In the manga there is also another pretty hot guy. ^^

Now it´s time for a few words at last. :) 

At a certain time, around the end of my schooltime I lost track to a lot of things. Watching anime was one of them. I watched some shows later online, but it was hard to follow them. Especially shows that are ongoing and ongoing... Sometimes that can be nice, but most times it gets a feeling of artificial content in a show. I read Dragonball Z as a manga, because when the episodes content became only 20min of screaming I lost my interest in watching the show...

After watching these openings you might understand the "timeline" title. These shows are somehow bound to parts of my life. I had anime crushs, I wanted a digimon and cared for the characters. There are many emotions and memories. As a teenager I also wanted to become a mangaka. 

I think all these shows influenced me in a good way. I kept and keep drawing and I love it!
