I hope everything is fine for you, and I wish you all my best wishes for 2021!
I don't have a new game or beta to share with you for now, but here are some news of my current projects:
[Game Gear & Master System] Dangerous Demolition physical release
A couple months ago, I've shared with you the latest beta versions of Dangerous Demolition for Game Gear and Master System. Since then, I have been heavily testing the game on real hardware, as the game should be available on actual cartridge in 2021:

I'm partnering with Cote Gamers for this physical release. They have been working hard on designing new cartridge PCB for both consoles. They also designed their own mapper so the game can use FlashROM instead of battery backed RAM to record high score and game progression. I have modified my game to work with their mapper while they built a prototype Master System PCB. And good news, the game works perfectly fine on this new PCB! So now, it's time to design the Game Gear cartridge - it's harder to do as there is less space inside the cartridge, but I'm confident that they will be able to achieve it too.
We have also found a supplier for brand new cartridges shells (Krikz). Regarding the boxes, for the Master System it's easy as the Megadrive / Genesis ones are the same as the Master System ones. So we'll use the Genesis boxes made by CustomGameCases, the best model available today (used by most of Genesis homebrew releases).
For the Game Gear boxes, it's very unlikely that we'll be able to have a cardboard box, or at least not at a reasonable cost. So we're looking at other options like plastic boxes. Price-wise, a plastic box would cost about 7-8$ per unit, while a cardboard one would cost around 15$. So this is a question I'd like to ask you:
As a retrogamer / homebrew enthusiast, would you prefer to pay a game 8$ extra to have a cardboard box looking like the ones from the old days ? Or would you prefer to have a plastic box that looks good too, but doesn't look like 90's releases, if it allows you to save 8$?
Thanks for any input, as I honestly don't know what solution is best here.
[Atari Lynx] Growing Ties Deluxe
I've also been working hard on the Atari Lynx front, as Atari Age has shown interest in publishing my game Growing Ties in a physical release.
My idea is to make "deluxe" version of the game, by adding new levels and game modes and polishing it even further. I will also include all the other Lynx titles I've created so far: Fishing for Atari, Timeloop and Gift Catcher. So the cartridge will offer a medium sized main game, and three small bonus games.
Work on the box and manual haven't started yet (I need to finish coding the actual game first!), but Atari Age already had some PCB and cartridges manufactured. Indeed they will publish several Lynx games at the same time, hopefully by the end of 2021.
You can expect to play a beta version of this game quite soon, as it's the project I working on the most right now! :)
[Neo-Geo] Yo-Yo Shuriken
Last but not least, over the last months I've been studying how to make games for the Neo-Geo, as I really love this machine. I want to port my SNES game Yo-Yo Shuriken to it. I know that the game was already "simple" for SNES standards, so I don't except anyone to go crazy about a Neo-Geo version of it. But as Yo-Yo Shuriken was designed as 2 player co-op arcade game from the start, I would really love to be able to play it on actual arcade hardware! Although the game will look and sound simple, I think it'd be fun experience for players anyway!
As usual, I'll share a beta version with you to thank you for your continued support! :)
