Here are some examples you can say to thank the person who gave you a gift:
[informal/casual]

e.g.
プレゼント、ありがとう!
purezento, arigatou
= Thank you for your gift!
心のこもったプレゼント、ありがとう。
kokoro no komotta purezento, arigatou
= Thank you for your thoughtful gift!
大切にするね!
taisetsu ni suru ne
= I will cherish/treasure it! / I will take good care of it!
すごく気に入った!
sugoku kiniitta!
= I LOVE it!

[formal/business]
ありがとうございました。 or
__をありがとうございました。
or
__をいただき、ありがとうございました。 (more common in business)
or
ご丁寧にありがとうございます。
go-teinei-ni arigatou gozaimasu
= Thank you for your kindness. (literally, "thank you for being so polite.")

= Thank you. (lit. I have gladly received it.)
