How To Remix - PT. 1: Choosing the right song, preparing
Added 2023-09-29 09:29:13 +0000 UTCGonna start doing short videos on how I go about making remixes as the information comes to me. It's been really hard to conceptualize an overall video about making remixes because what I do with everything is soooo complex. So doing it step by step is the way.
Footnotes:
1. Choose remixes with iconic sounds or vocal lines. There are great songs out there that might still be lacking that iconic element, whether it be a synth or instrument or vocal. Those are the hardest to remix, choose ones with elements you could build off of.
2. Prep all of the elements you need for a remix before you start producing. Vocal, full song, beat, instruments, melodies. Save yourself the time and sweat
3. Use WHOSAMPLED to track down the original samples of songs, so you could grab them yourself and recreate the sample usage. This will open up many doors for you.
