Kim didn't blow it up. The plan was to get them to go before Cliff Maine, that's it, and they played their part. They knew it might come back at them, that's why they came up with the carrot and stick plan as a safety net. The Kettlemans were threatening to go to Howard and tell him Kim and Jimmy are trying to defamate him that's why she said "forget you heard the name Howard Hamlin".
