Alexxa Reacts to Star Trek III: The Search for Spock (1984) | We Lost The Enterprise & Found Spock! | Full Watch-Along Reaction

Hi fam!

We return to the USS Enterprise with the third movie of the franchise: Star Trek III: The Search for Spock. What a movie! This one was a rollercoaster, but I loved every minute of it. First, there were so many actors I knew! Second, we found Spock! And third, we lost our girl the Enterprise!!! This movie brought all the feels in the end and was a great ending to the story started in the second movie.

I don't know how they will top this one, but I can't wait to watch the next movies.

Question for you all, do I watch the next movie before starting TNG? Or does TNG start next?

Can't wait to hear your thoughts on this one!

Xoxo,

Alexxa

I just finished your Wrath of Khan reaction and I'm going straight into this one. I would definitely watch Star Trek IV before going into TNG and then watch V and VI when they came out during your TNG run. Glad you are doing TNG and that you are enjoying Star Trek!

Just finished. What a great reaction! The look on your face when he said “Your name is Jim.” 🥹 I forget if you’ve seen any of what is coming before. I think you saw some of Voyager at one point or I might be greatly forgetting. I don’t know how much you know about TNG. As memory serves, the IV VHS had a preview of TNG on it. IV did come out first. Not commenting on 2.0, but will say your computer tried to autoplay the fifth movie, so don’t skip the fourth on accident! Some things on III. Nimoy intended Spock to die in II. When word leaked, they did the bridge simulator scene in the beginning where he dies to fake out the audience. When the movie did well, they asked him to come back for III, and he said “How about I direct?” He did a couple of voices, and made sure in the credits he wasn’t identified. In the opening where his name would show there’s a blank space and it takes twice as long to get to DeForest Kelley, who was second. John Laroquette played the Klingon Kirk forgot to kill. Kirstie Alley got too famous and wanted too much money, so they cast Jamie Lee Curtis’ sister. My favorite ever Kirk moment is when the man who ordered his son’s death is about to die, Kirk tries to save him.

I cannot wait to watch this with you tonight. It won’t impact the chronology but IV came out before TNG.
