Rewrites (Mama Bear)
Added 2023-06-22 04:25:35 +0000 UTC((Y/N)'s POV)
We were all having some breakfast and going to take a bath while our clothes were washed before we go. We didn't want to rush her and be rude before we leave, but after I took my bath first, Mama Bear held me on her lap while the girls all took a bath. This felt weird, but we were going to leave soon and actually have time to talk in private without having to worry about something happening and nobody will be in danger. She finished the laundry by taking out clothes off of a line outside and they were still a little wet, but good enough to put on. Red, Alice, and I were ready to go to the library to talk about where to go next, but... Mama Bear picked up Red and sat on a chair with her.
Red-Um, excuse me Mrs. Bear, but we should be on our way. Mother must be worried sick.
Mama-Well, we said we would help you and we will go soon.
Alice-But we already know where to go.
Mama-Then we will go with you. We can't just let children go out into the wilderness all alone, again. That would be irresponsible.
Red-It's not that far.
Alice and I both looked at her and she realized what he said and Mama Bear looked confused. She didn't ask how because I bet she didn't take it seriously, but Mama Bear or anyone can't come with us.
(Mama's POV)
What Red said really confused me and Alice and (Y/N) looked troubled by it, so something else must be going on. This talk I was going to have with my husband just became more important, but I had to find the right words. After a while, I put Red down to go play while I went outside to the garden where my husband was working.
<figure>Mama-Dear we need to talk about these human children.
He stopped what he was doing and gave me his full attention, so I took a deep breath. This was a big decision, but it was for the good of the children.
Papa-What about the children?
Mama-I don't think it's... a good idea to bring them home.
Papa-... I beg your pardon.
Mama-These children had to have left home or got lost from their parents losing track. Red even just accidentally told me that her home is not that far. Something has to be happening.
Papa-Honey, I'm sure we will get to the bottom of this, but we can't just suddenly take in 4 more mouths to feed.
Mama-We can not bring them back to awful or neglectful parents either. (Y/N)'s home has to be very far away with no clue how to get there.
Papa-We have to try something. They can't live with us because we simply don't have enough room, money, or food.
I felt so frustrated for the first time in the marriage that he will let bad things happen to the children, and that is not the bear I married and had a family with. We do have enough or we would if he would cut back on food like me, so I can feed our child. His portions of food can be 3 meals in one, and his bed is the biggest, even if he won't let me sleep with him for mental reasons. Now that I think about it, I have been the only one sacrificing in this relationship while he has not changed a thing for the good of our baby and now it could let 4 children suffer.
Mama's mind-... I won't let you. There will be room and food for those children, one way or another.
(Goldilocks's POV)
Baby Bear was still playing in his bath, so I was just sitting in the living room and I saw Red, Alice, and (Y/N) whispering to each other before they went to the front door. They stopped when Alice turned to me.
<figure>Alice-Please tell Mrs. Bear that we are sorry for leaving so suddenly, but we will most definitely be alright.
Goldilocks-Where are you going?
Alice-We are going home, just... not entirely sure on what to do when we get there.
(Y/N)-But hey, have fun here... Bye.
They went outside and just as they opened the door, Mama Bear was at the door and came in.
<figure>Mama-Hello children. Papa Bear and I are going to go out for a walk, so stay here and stay put. We're going to have a little talk when we get back about a few things. Let me tend to Baby Bear first and I will be off.
It felt weird that she was going to leave us alone here, but when she went to the bathroom where Baby Bear was, they sat down to wait. I was curious about a couple of things now, but mostly about these 3. I went to go talk to Mama Bear, but when I got close to the bathroom...
Mama-Mama has a surprise for you, Sweetie. ~
Baby-What is it Mama?
Mama-You are going to have 3 sisters and a brother, but we have to keep this a secret for now. Don't want to spoke them We need to ease them into it. ~
Baby-Goldilocks is gonna be my sister?
Mama-That's right, but don't tell them. *shhhhhh* ~
What was she talking about, 'sister'? I already have a home and I want to go back and be a better daughter to my parents. She even wants to keep the others here. I heard her footsteps, so I ran to the living room where others were and sat on the couch to try and act like I didn't hear anything, but the three of them looked at me.
<figure>Alice-Are you alright?
Goldilocks-*Shh*.
Just then we heard Mama Bear coming down the hall and I turned away to not look at her, but I did hear her leave after telling us again, and Baby Bear was staying in his room. When she left, I waited a little and turned back to everyone and told them to do what I wanted to do in the first place...
Goldilocks-We gotta get out of here! *whisper yell*
Red-What?
(Mama Bear's POV)
I took my husband out for a walk and trying to talk him into letting us keep the children. I tried compromising, helping out more, and even seducing him a little, but he was stubborn about not taking them in. When I brought up his food that he would be fine sharing a little of his big bowls with them, then it could work out, but...
Papa-I'm simply bigger and need to eat more. Plus they have families that feed them.
Mama-Their families lost them or something worse! What Red said and how her friends reacted was concerning and based on their clothes, I don't have a clue where (Y/N) is from! We can't let them go and leave things to chance!
Papa-It's not leaving them to chance. We will talk to each parent.
Mama-We don't know them! Please!
He only sighed and looked frustrated.
Papa-You are only making this harder than it needs to be. This is happening.
Mama-... No... This is happening.
I pushed him off the trail and down a hill of mud, rocks, and poison ivy. His thick fur protected him against the fall, but the mudslide I got started by hitting the ground super hard a few times before I pushed the log on the side of the path to make it cave and got Papa buried alive. Finally, I took the ring buried under my fur off and tossed it on top of the mud at the bottom of the mud where my 'ex-husband' is.
Mama-You don't want to help them, then fine... I can do fine without you.
I made it back home, but I caught a scent in the air that belonged to all of the human children. I rushed inside to see the children were not in the living room, but their scent was still strong.
Mama-No!
((Y/N)'s POV)
The four of us were running as fast as we could. Red said that bears can smell as good as wolves, so we had to get out of here before she finds us. When we made it to where we could see the library...
Mama-Children!... Where are you going?! You shouldn't be out here! *echo*
She sounded far away, but if she caught up this fast then she'll catch us in no time if we don't hurry. She can already smell us, so there was no point in being quiet.
(Y/N)-Hurry! Get inside!
Goldilocks was the fastest but slowed down at the entrance a little before I pushed her in a little and Red was the last to get inside. I closed the door and locked it before I ran to one of the books and tried to find a safe one on the shelf, but there was only one that I didn't know called "Snow Queen".
Red-Pick one! She's coming!
(Y/N)-Hold on! I gotta find one that's the least bad! I never heard of Snow Queen, but I know the villains in Snow White and Wizard of OZ.
Goldilock-What are books going to do to help us?! We need to get to a village!
Mama-Children! *echo*
She sounded closer and she'll be here before we know it. If she's as strong as a bear then those doors will not hold her at all if she tries to break them.
(Y/N)-Ok, ok, I'll... Wait, where's the key?!
Goldilocks-What?
(Y/N)-Who touched it last?
Red-I thought you had it! We picked out food before you did!
I looked at the table where I thought I put it, but it wasn't there and everyone saw this.
Alice-Oh, dear! F-Find it!
(Goldilocks's POV)
We all ran around this stupid library to find a keep for the small chains on the books they wanted for some reason. I tried to help look and soon found a key kind of blending into a chair, so it was a little hard to see. Just then...
Mama-Children, what are you doing in there?! *echo*
I panicked and ran to the bookshelf and unlocked a random chain before I showed the book to Alice.
Goldilocks-I got a book out!
She quickly took it from me and opened it and when we were about to hear Mama Bear right at the door aside from her loud and fast footsteps, the library started shaking and fancy candles flashed a bit while light from the windows shined brightly until... it looked a little dark in here. I was on my butt trying to guess what just happened and Red fell over and was crying a little until (Y/N) helped her up and hugged her before he came to me to help me up.
(Y/N)-Are you ok?
Goldilocks-What just happened?! I-Is this witchcraft?!
(Y/N)-Umm... I guess it is... What book did you open?
We looked at Alice with the book and she closed it to read the cover of the book, and it was starting to get a little cold in here.
Alice-This book is called, "Snow Queen".
Just then Red opened the doors and a bit of snow blew in before she closed it. We looked outside and it was snowing really hard outside, so I can see why this was called the Snow Queen from all of the snow, but this makes her a witch. I felt so confused and scared right now, so I turned to (Y/N) and his stupid (H/L) (H/C) hair and (E/C) eyes to get his stupid attention.
Goldilocks-Hey! Take me back home right now! RIGHT NOW!!!
(Y/N)-Calm down!
Goldilocks-No! I want to go home and never s-see you or *hic* a-a bear ag-agai- *hic* agai-.
Just then Alice grabbed me and pulled me into a hug to try and calm me down, but it only made me cry into her.
Alice-Lets... get a fire started in the chimney and then we will tell you everything as best as we can. Ok?
I could only nod my head and she took me to a seat and kept me in a hug while (Y/N) and Red tried to start a fire, but were having a hard time. I was cold, scared, hungry, and I just wanted to see my Mommy and Daddy again! I cried even harder and curled up in the chair.
Goldilocks's mind-WHAT IS GOING ON?!?!?!
(No POV)
The walls of the palace were formed of drifted snow and the windows and doors of the cutting winds. There were more than a hundred rooms in it, all as if they had been formed with snow blown together. The largest of them extended for several miles. They were all lighted up by the vivid light of the aurora, and they were so large and empty, so icy cold and glittering! Empty, vast, and cold were the halls of the Snow Queen. The flickering flame of the northern lights could be plainly seen, whether they rose high or low in the heavens, from every part of the castle. In the midst of its empty, endless hall of snow was a frozen lake, broken on its surface into a thousand forms. Each piece resembled another, from being in itself perfect as a work of art, and in the center of this lake sat the Snow Queen, when she was at home. She called the lake “The Mirror of Reason,” and said that it was the best, and indeed the only one in the world. The Snow Queen walked into her quarters and stared into the mirror.
<figure>Snow Queen's mind-Perhaps a sled ride will be in order after the storm. For now, I will take a nap.
