I have gotten a lot flak from recent events. But my response can make it much worse if i don't handle it properly. Should i buckle down and take it? or post this response to it?

Post it. It's a reasonable explanation and I think people will understand why "you got beat". I don't think your whining at all. You're just explaining yourself and you have the right as anyone else to defend your integrity as a scinetist.
