Can a 40 psi diaphragm vacuum pump be used to efficiently distill white fuming nitric acid? And if it works will one gas trap be adequate to protect the pump from the corrosive gases?

Hydrofluoric acid: 1- can you explain Its ability of dissolving glass, How? 2- can we prepare it in lab? (How?) 3- Main uses of HF?

What would be some good books for an amateur chemist with experiments aswell as the explanations behind the science, much like your episodes but in text format

There are a ton of videos of batteries blowing up when punctured. What is the chemical reaction that is happening to cause such a reaction? .... Demo? :-D

Alex

he's actually made this before! and dipped his hand in it!

Would you consider making a video on concentrating 3% OTC hydrogen peroxide to 30% or so? Where I live I find it impossible to acquire high concentrations of hydrogen peroxide anywhere. Thanks! Love your videos!

Would you ever consider making a video on something like a membraneless HBr flow battery?

What's going on in those rechargeable hand-warmers that you boil to recharge? Since the chemical in them clearly can be solid at room temperature, why don't they spontaneously freeze when they cool down after being recharged? What keeps them liquid until you activate them?

What makes certain things spontaneously combustible? For example, a lot of organometallics (methyl zinc, TMA, etc) will burn vigorously when exposed to air.

Any nerdy tips in home chemistry to make the holidays a little more jolly (red and green dyes, festive holiday ideas, etc.). Happy Holidays NurdRage family!

Are you going to do a remake of that HP YouOnYou video that you uploaded 6 years ago? The idea was wonderful but the quality was poor, i personally would like to see a remake with the same music/same cuts etc...

Glass panels break when they bend. Why are glass fibers flexible?

How to make the efficient water electrolysis rig (most efficient in grams of H²/O² per kWh) using only stuff from the hardware store ?

I enjoyed your video concerning using zeolite or magnesium to dry a solvent. If I did this to ethanol, would the end product be food safe in either instance?

I've wanted to try my hand at synthesising polymers and dyes using readily available chemicals, in particular bakelite, acetate, and nylon. This used to be staple stuff for amateur chemists fifty years ago. I can lay my -- gloved -- hands on things like glacial acetic acid, sulfuric acid, hydrogen peroxide, various nitrates, and all the usual hardware store and photographic chemicals, but obtaining aniline, toluidines, formalin, phenol, acetic anhydride and the like seems not to be so simple (at least not in Australia). Here's what I stock in my lab at the moment: Acetone, Aluminium Sulfate, Ammonia, cloudy, Ammonium Bicarbonate Calcium Nitrate, Copper(II) Carbonate, Copper Chloride, Copper(II) Sulfate, Chromium(III) Oxide EDTA Acid Hydrogen Peroxide, 50% Iron(II) Sulfate,Iron(III) Oxide Magnesium ribbon, Methylated spirits, Methanol Nickel(II) Oxide Phenolphthalein powder, Phosphorus Pentoxide, Potassium Bromide, Potassium Dichromate, Potassium Chloride, Potassium Citrate, Potassium Ferricyanide, Potassium Hydroxide, Potassium Iodide, Potassium Metabisulfite, Potassium Nitrate, Potassium Permanganate Silver metal, Sodium Benzoate, Sodium Carbonate, Sodium Silicate, Sodium Sulfate, Sodium Sulfite, Sodium Tetraborate Decahydrate, Sodium Thiosulfate, Sulfur Tannic Acid, T-butanol, Thiocarbomide (Thiourea), Tin(II) Oxide, Toluene Vanadium(V) oxide
