That will be a great reaction; Mike has the eye of eagle! He picks up on themes, symbolism, notices stuff on first viewings that not everyone picks up....and in a movie like "Chinatown", that's a HUGE plus! It must be a good movie to edit because you notice so much more the second time; the first time is just solving the mystery! Definitey a movie that rewards multiple viewings. (That said, six of the seven movies on that poll are favorites; I'd be happy if virtually any of 'em won!) (But if it's going to be "Chinatown", bring it on!!!)

2022-11-08 21:42:40 +0000 UTCHoly smokes, every single one of those movies is one of my faves except "The Sting" (never liked that one, but lots of people do). Basically every single one of those movies is worth doing!!!! "Chinatown", "Dog Day Afternoon", "Deer Hunter" and "Taxi Driver" are quintessential 70s heavyweights (Jack Nicholson, Al Pacino and two De Niros!). But "Patton" and "Deliverance" are also super fantastic and just as classic, holy smokes. Practically impossible to choose! As soon as I pick one movie, I feel GUILTY for not picking the others! How could I NOT pick "Dog Day Afternoon"?!!! How could I NOT pick "Chinatown"?? ALL of those movies will eventually be on the channel! EXCELLENT POLL! I suppose I'd be bummed if "The Sting" won over all those others, which are pretty much all tied for first place as "greatest of the 70s" as far as I'm concerned!
