The Food & Beverage Supplier License mod provides a Reward trait (named 'Food & Beverage Supplier License') that is available in the Rewards Store for 500 satisfaction points.

Once you buy this trait and add it to your sim, they can sell crafted items to various businesses for a higher price (x2 and higher) than they would get by selling them directly from their inventory. This allows your sim to make a better living crafting without going to the trouble of running a retail store and managing employees. A side benefit is that they now have a good reason to get to know the sims working at the businesses in your game.
Once you acquire a Food & Beverage Supplier License reward trait, here's what you can sell and who you can sell it to:
- Produce, Fish, Meat, Spices
Any restaurant Host
"Fruit & Vegetables" market stall vendor in San Myshuno - Juice Fizzes, Seltzer, Kombucha and Other Crafted Beverages
Any bartender (but not hired ones) - Fresh Fish
The Daily Catch market stall vendor in Brindleton Bay
The Poke market stall vendor in Sulani
You can also sell fish at restaurants and the produce carts - Pastries from the Cupcake Factory, Whole Pies, Cakes, Bread
Any Barista (but not hired ones)
Coffee cart vendors (such as in Discover University) - Wedding Cakes
Patisserie vendor in Tartosa
You need to have a friendly relationship with the person you are selling the items to, and they need to be 'at work' during the sale. Click on them while they are doing their job, and a 'Sell <type of good>' menu option will be available. It will bring up a picker that you can use to sell the items out of your inventory.
Price modifiers
Unfortunately the current design, which uses a 'multi quantity' type sell picker, is unable to modify the price based on the specifics of the individual items, such as quality, freshness, etc. The other option would have been to list each bit of produce or pie individually, which would make selling large quantities of items kind of a drag.
The amount paid starts at 200% base price, and receives various bonuses such as:
- If the global Support Organic Produce policy has been enacted (via the Conservationist career from Island Living), payment is increased 50%.
- If a bar is in a neighborhood with the Juiced Community Neighborhood Action Policy in effect (from Eco Lifestyle), payment is increased 50%.
- If a restaurant or produce market cart is in a neighborhood with the Home Cooking NAP in effect (also from Eco Lifestyle), payment is increased 50%.
- If the sim selling the produce has the Marketable trait, payment is increased 25%.
NOTE: I've been trying to enable selling potions to the potion stall in the Magic Realm, but the tuning for those vendors is giving me problems, so that is not currently enabled (yet).
Let me know if you have any other ideas, especially for:
- Crafted items that you would like to sell this way that I've missed.
- Price bonuses that you think would make sense (such as the ones for various NAP and global conservationist policies describe above).
Figuring out which baked goods are sellable at cafes and coffee carts is a little tricky, since I need to do it all with tags right now. I have the cupcake factory Pastry options, whole pies and cakes, and loaves of bread covered at the moment.
This mod should allow you to sell custom recipe food if its tagged correctly. I can provide a list of usable tags for each type of product to sell if anyone is interested (I'll probably put it in the docs eventually). I've already tested it with Basemental's Juice Fizzy => Craft Beer transformation, so you can sell beer to bars using this.
I'd kind of like to add some more interactions with the Neighborhood Action Policy mechanics, but want to avoid a hard dependency on Eco Lifestyle. For example, I'm thinking that selling crafted goods (like produce or juice fizzes) to a business in your home neighborhood when a corresponding N.A.P is in effect should give you additional neighborhood Influence Points, etc. If you have any thoughts on that, let me know.
