Development rumors: And Once Again, About Cupid.

Greetings, folks!

Today, we want to talk again about the one who's been pouring drinks all this time and seems to have gotten on everyone's nerves. Some adore him for his crude jokes and cynical commentary, others quietly despise him and dream of the option to play the game entirely excluding him from the narrative. As for us, we've been quite unabashedly using him as a crutch, a kind of author's off-screen voice helping to explain narrative details.

Yes, it's him—the eternal "third wheel," the alcohol demon Cupid. And in the upcoming update, he will finally get the chance to step out of the shadows and take his rightful place.

And this place, as you will soon learn, is far from the audience seats. And not behind the bar counter with all sorts of jests and jibes. We shouldn't have forgotten that he is not a funny, albeit annoying, little pet. And he is certainly far from being white and fluffy. He is a demon. With goals and motives that are far from harmless.

And in the upcoming update, we will finally make room to reveal this side of his nature. A whole line of quests related to his true essence will appear, and Sam's corruption meter will take on new shades.

As is customary, this chapter of the story will begin with innocent mischief and escapades, the kind a person often gets up to while in their cups. But gradually, with the growth of corruption, it will begin to weave into the plot like a crack in glass—expanding and accumulating new details and consequences, thereby changing everything, even the character's perception of the surrounding reality and their place in it.

Whether Sam can stop in time and how far to go down this path—as always, that's only for you to decide. Yes, it might be a thrilling adventure, and in the end, a worthy and, let's be honest, long-awaited reward awaits you.

But remember, a journey in the company of an alcohol demon is often a one-way road.

He may have been demoted to being an alcohol demon, but he was originally an incubus after all.

Hi, it's been a while since I last played this excellent game and I'm a bit lost, since I stopped when I was playing with the White Lady, the Vampire Countess and her ending, and the dwarves, and only 3 gardening stages. How much progress has been made since then?

I think that Cupid takes the ridiculous form that he does so that Sam [and now Jack] won't take him seriously. His true form might be significantly less comedic.
