Meet Sir Darkwell Thirsten. Charming and debonair, yet dark and mysterious, he is someone that people just find themselves drawn too. But while some may think he's an aristocrat or a nobleman, a second son or a second son perhaps, they would be wrong. Sir Darkwell Thirsten is, in fact, the proud owner and proprietor and Ringmaster of "Sir Darkwell Thirsten's Nightmare Carnival".  Yes, you read that correctly, "Nightmare Carnival". You see, Sir Darkwell Thirsen has a theory. He believes that people like to be scared. When your adrenaline is pumping and your heart skips a beat, that's a true thrill. When you're shaking in fear and and feel death could be around any corner, that's when you feel most ALIVE. Yes, Sir Darkwell Thirsten loves to frighten his audiences, and his audiences love him for it.

That isn't to say, however, that he is loved by all. He has been called many things by his critics: Monster, Charlatan, Fear Monger, Opportunist, Carnie Scum, Vagabond. But one thing everyone can agree to call him is, "Successful". Sir Darkwell Thirsten provides something for every audience, and in return, his audiences have made him rich. However, he isn't quite what he seems, for Sir Darkwell Thirsten has a secret as dark as his tastes, and his carnival may not be quite as it seems. What secrets lie hidden just beneath the surface of this traveling circus? What is it that seems off about this shadowy Ringmaster? Is there a connection between this merry troupe of performers and a long string of unsolved disappearances? Would you run away and join the circus?...
