Disappointed we didn't get a goodbye scene between Qball and Itchy. Maybe Q could've given Icheb some new clothes as a parting gift.

2023-07-06 17:16:49 +0000 UTCI agree. Just because something is realistic doesn't mean it's required. When enough people speak up to say they object (to the objectification), maybe the people making executive decisions about a show will listen and reconsider future choices.

2023-07-04 20:24:02 +0000 UTCAs you’re so far “behind,” I’m not sure if you’ve heard that the podcast will continue? It has not yet been announced what will be discussed, but last I heard, TNG and DS9 had been ruled out as they already have their own podcasts

2023-07-01 13:38:42 +0000 UTCIcheb is a borg so he isn't the typical teen he would be better at flying than a human teen

2023-07-01 09:27:50 +0000 UTCOne of the things I like about this podcast is Garrett and Robbie aren’t afraid to point out when something is dated, like the way Seven is depicted in this episode. As a teenage girl watching Trek I took it for granted that women would be objectified by Star Trek and that if I wanted to watch my favourite show, I just had to put up with it. I’m glad we’re talking about these things much more now. And yes it was in character for a teenage boy to do something like that but it was adult writers who decided that was the way to demonstrate he was a rebellious teen. Let’s not pretend the reason for doing this was that it was integral to the story and not to give the viewers an eyeful.

2023-06-28 19:29:48 +0000 UTCOn TOS episode Charlie X, Charlie did it with his powers to a random crew person he thought was laughing at him.

2023-06-28 19:23:25 +0000 UTCHave Robbie and Garrett said what will happen to the podcast when they reach the last episode? I'm back in Season 2 and won't catch up in time to listen to Season 7 Episode 24 on day and date! Thanks :)

2023-06-27 21:33:24 +0000 UTCElisabeth you are correct. That X files episode was called "Je Souhaite". It was about a Genie.

2023-06-27 18:24:47 +0000 UTCOmg, the DeLancie family interview was fantastic! Thank you for that. Not sure about Twilight Zone but there was definitely an episode of X-Files where someone's mouth got disappeared, for the same reason that someone was annoyed at what he was saying. It was one of their comical episodes too.

2023-06-27 00:35:05 +0000 UTCI think it's important to point these things out now. People may have protested at the time and no one listened. I for one am glad these things are no longer acceptable and am always pleased when Robbie and Garrett voice their opinions about them.

2023-06-27 00:33:14 +0000 UTCDisagree. I find it offensive and I have never even been to Hollywood.

2023-06-27 00:30:41 +0000 UTCRobbie and Garrett seem like genuinely nice people, but with regards to the 'its so 90s' and 'that was the 90s and no one batted an eyelid' sexualization of Seven, I find it very hard to believe no one criticized this or thought it was gross at the time - it's just that those people weren't listened to. It wasn't the 'standards of the day'. And not that I expect there would have been much/any scope for actors to influence that scene where Seven is naked, but all cast and crew were grown adults with fully developed consciousness (with a couple of exceptions for child actors) at the time of filming - so unless the issue was raised then, why labour the point now?

2023-06-26 23:08:07 +0000 UTC"Omg, I just cant believe a 16yr old boy would be looking at a naked girl! It's so unnecessary!" Once again, being in Hollywood for as long as they have been has just turned them into, "what can I find offensive!" Robbie, teenage boys are interested in hot naked chicks, sorry to break it to you

2023-06-26 09:04:49 +0000 UTCIt's so compelling that Garrett came up with this Theory that the mini Q designed itself or it was designed to look like the progeny of Q and Janeway I've seen that episode so many times and it totally makes so much sense because later on cuz there is the other Q episode is where Janeway meets the other q that Q has a relationship with when they get involved in the Q War
