Goblins?
Added 2023-12-24 02:29:18 +0000 UTCThe canon goblins of Golarion in pathfinder 1e are a bunch of little irredeemable psychopaths who are not welcome among polite society. They can be fun/cool little guys though, and my own version of goblins in my campaigns tend to be a little odd.
The canon aspects I’m keeping either way are that goblins love music, love fire, are innately chaotic, and have a strong cultural aversion to the written word.
How are we playing them? Tick any that appeal.
Bloodthirsty- Goblins are not necessarily all evil but they are all violent. They have no psychological barriers to solving their problems with bloodshed and will jump to that very quickly.
Gender Dimorphic- Goblin girls canonically have hair and slightly smaller heads, but are still hard to distinguish from the guys unless you know the hair is a girls only thing. Pick this if you want female goblins to be more feminine and cute, and for goblins to have similar tastes in mates to many other species.
Goblintech- in my setting, goblins have the ability to make technology that really shouldn’t work out of cobbled together materials. They make it work with subconscious magic, and any goblin or goblin trained person can use it just fine as long as they suppress all doubts. I’m talking rocket launchers, small mech suits, attack on Titan 3d motion apparatus, etc.
Integration- the Shackles is pretty cosmopolitan anyway, no one cares that Emrys is a drow for the most part, but generally goblins don't have much in the way of positive contact with civilized folks. Pick this if you want goblins to be allowed into most cities without any trouble.
