Last night my dog died suddenly and unexpectedly. I don’t want to discuss the details.
Walter was a standard poodle. He was an asshole, who barked like a lunatic and was always into something. He loved basically all people with few exceptions, jumped around like mad whenever we had guests, and would casually beg for attention. He was pretty big, but believed fully that he was a lap dog; a belief that we happily humored him on despite the strain it put on our old armchair. He was consistently gentle and tolerant with our human child from the day she was born, even when she was going through her phase of hitting him with a stick. Never once did we need to worry that he might hurt her.
Walter was a good boy, and I felt the need to shout it from the rooftops. My writing is the highest rooftop I have available, and I figured you guys deserve an explanation if there are any delays. Sorry to be a downer. Love your pets and the people around you, it is easy to be blind-sided.
