April 11th to 17th Schedule and Poll Results

It turns out the advantage of posting a weekly schedule in advance it’s that it lets me see just how much I messed up the whole thing… So join me in dissecting what went wrong and just by how much!

I managed to write Wordsworth as planned on Monday, but Tuesday I had a family thing that, while not bad per se, managed to get me thoroughly out of it until I ended up writing Wake-up Call during Wednesday’s early morning. This had a domino effect on the rest of the week, where I definitely didn’t take advantage of Wednesday to plan, as I was both incredibly tired and trying to finish Deranged Lesbian, which kept getting longer than I had planned it to be, then I finished the All Right! Fine! I’ll Take You! chapter at... Friday’s 7:00 a.m., pushed myself to keep going until I posted the Deranged Lesbian chapter a few hours later, crashed the rest of the day, and wrote the Self Insert of the Dead chapter on Saturday rather than on Friday, which made it so I couldn’t write Zaimokuza’s update. On Sunday, I was basically a bit overwhelmed with the reception the Self Insert of the Dead fic was getting on QQ, but pushed past a mild writer’s block to get out the epilogue to Deranged Lesbian, and… here we are.

So, what went wrong? I both underestimated how much work I had to do on Deranged Lesbian and failed to account for unexpected circumstances getting in the way. Also, I need to get better at handling readers’ reactions when they aren’t as overwhelmingly supportive as you guys have always been.

What went right? Well, remember when I said that, on a good day, I could write an average of 4k words? Over this past week I actually posted a total of 27.6k words, which averages to about those 4k per day… if I had actually written every day. Which, as established, wasn’t quite the case.

It’s also about a third of The Hobbit’s length.

To no one’s surprise, Wordsworth won the extra 3k words poll this time around. I admit I cheated a bit and I had counted on that being the case, because, if my math isn’t wrong (something I’ll check later on, just in case), last week’s update was an extra update. Still, Evilreadermaximum has been extra generous this month and you’ll all get quite a bit more than a measly 3k extra words.

Also to no one’s surprise, the Konosuba option won the plot bunny poll, so expect me to be even snarkier than usual as I delve into Kazuma’s twisted psyche.

As to this week’s schedule, I’m sadly moving Zaimokuza to Wednesday, because if I try to write it today I’ll make a royal mess out of it and also push the other stories around, so things should look like this:

Monday: Wordsworth.

Tuesday: Wake-up Call.

Wednesday: Zaimokuza Gaiden.

Thursday: All Right! Fine! I’ll Take You!

Friday: A Pure Knight’s Natural Enemy.

Saturday: Self Insert of the Dead.

Sunday: Probably die a little bit. Maybe work on Ginosko.
