This post is just to cover the important bits of my last update, just in a manner that can be seen by anyone who is keeping tabs on my patreon; whether you're a former patron, free member, or just didn't catch the last update, here's what you need to know.

Two images today, one a doodle of Sara and Shae being innocent and not at all troublesome, and an update on page 8 of Boycurious. Inking is pretty much done, just about ready for color. And some updates/news/etc.

First up: I made a Discord. I consider it temporary so I haven't gotten very fancy with it, setting up a bunch of channels or rules or anything. Just behave yourselves.

Classic Seff. But really, it's been the most low pressure/low effort thing I could work on, so it's been easy to pick up and chip away at whenever I have a couple hours. It's not actually finished yet, but it's close. Haven't neglected Boycurious entirely.

Well, uh, happy new year, I guess?  Been a busy couple months for me, and I haven't been able to get in a lot of drawing until fairly recently.  So, what's up with everything?

Is nigh.  Not today, but soon.

I've been busy this week.  Some of it, I admit, was just idleness, playing some video games, relaxing.  A lot of it was what I mentioned, my dad coming to visit.  What I didn't mention was that my dad gave me a new (to me) car when he came out here, so I've had some of the extra fun of getting that square with the DMV and state inspections and everything.  And, the one thing that's really going to affect things going forward.

Just dropping in with something I whipped up really quick.  Haven't had time to get page 7 going, but this was something I had in my head as a non-canon alt for page 8 - Seff showing Jensca more of what Ash can do.

Missed Sunday's update.  Got the linework done, colors and shadows should be done by the weekend.  But, speaking of the weekend, my dad is dropping by for a surprise visit - which is a pretty big deal, he lives in California and I'm on the east coast.  So I'm not sure I'll get much done over the weekend.  I feel fairly confident I'll get page 7 done this month, page 8 might spill into next month.

Page 6 is cooking, I think I've got the major forms down.  Made a couple changes in hand positions since the concept, but I think I'm happy with where they are now, so time to detail some of the follow-on stuff like hands, feet, hair.

Inks and flats done, shading started.  Should be done tomorrow or Sunday, then it's on to page 6.

Don't have anything witty to say or anything.  Trying to be better about posting progress when I'd said I would; tuesday night, friday night, sunday night.  So, here's the next progress shot.  I've got all the sketching done, just gotta tidy these lines up tomorrow and start coloring.

Gotten a good start on page 5 of Boycurious.  Still a little undecided on some aspects of Ash's pose here, but most everything else is coming along well.

3 of 4 of the third batch.  I'll try to round this out with a fourth, but all the work on Boycurious still remains - maybe I'll finish Boycurious first and then pick up any other sketches left from this month's requests at the end of September.

Didn't manage to put up any WIP peeks at these, but here is batch two.  I'll do a third batch - I'm sure it'll run into September some, but my schedule for the last week of August here is much clearer than it was for the rest of the month.  As a reminder though, September's focus will be finishing the remaining 4 pages of Boycurious - no requests or polls for that month.

Like in December, I'm handling these in batches, sorting some ideas together and tackling 4 at a time.  These are the first four, got the poses mostly laid out; we've got Giantburger's request for Keith and Flora, Synariel's request for Captain Jenny and Clovis, TheBookishDerg's for Natani and Zen, and Sane and JasonLee's request for Kat (and Zen).

August 2023 Requests

As a result of last month's poll, I spent July working on Boycurious - and promised you guys a month of 'Iron Artist' style requests this month, where I'll try to do as many sketches as I can.  Next month it'll be back to Boycurious, working on that till it is wrapped up.  So, no poll this month, no official theme (though as a reminder August is Krystal Appreciation Month), just put in your requests by replying to this post with a comment.  The usual copypasta of rules is below...

Next page on the way.  I thought I should move Ash's face to the other side of Seff to show more of the window and cover up some blank space on the wall, but seeing this now I'm questioning that - with the books there it makes the right side of the composition a lot more busy.  I'll think on it, but chances are I won't change it at this point.  It's a minor issue and not worth redrawing, I suppose.
