We’re making a laptop… out of cardboard! I’ll give some backstory on how we came up with this idea. A while ago, Evan learned about the Framework laptop which is a laptop assembled of various interchangeable pieces, with the benefit of being able to easily upgrade individual parts (it’s all modular). Since it’s all these modular pieces, we’ve been brainstorming weird laptop “casings” we could build, and cardboard struck our minds.

We planned to use layers of laser cut cardboard to build it, and Evan (being the engineer) wanted to add aluminum plates between the layers to add rigidity. But I worried that that would take away from the jankiness of it being made out of cardboard and he was down to try it without aluminum reinforcements first.
Oh and to add to the stakes, we’re planning to send this to Linus Tech Tips to be judged haha. We’ll keep y’all posted!
