We demolded our concrete keycap tests (you know, where we mixed in PVA glue, fiberglass, and sand to see how each strengthened concrete, as well as testing what happens to concrete in a pressure chamber). I’ll give you the quick version: fiberglass was AWFUL and had little strings poking out, sand was ok but didn’t seem to make it stronger, PVA glue made it stronger but it was REALLY hard to sand, and overall the pressure chamber made a BIG difference.

So what did we end up deciding to use as a strengthener? Drumroll …nothing. We just went with normal concrete in the pressure chamber haha. It seemed to be the best balance of strength and sandability, without any weird texture issues. We also went ahead and cast the keyboard case in concrete! -Katelyn
