This video almost didn’t happen… (Giant Candle Jar Aftershow)

Hey guys! So many of y’all may have already seen the video on Safiya Nygaard’s channel where we made a giant franken yankee candle together. First off I have to say, we had SUCH a good time hanging out and working on this with Safiya, Tyler, and their team. And I’m glad we can finally talk about it now that the franken yankee video is out!

For this collab, our main responsibilities were 1) figuring out how to make a clear, round candle jar big enough for 30 gallons of wax (around 4 ft tall), 2) making a giant wick template, and 3) figuring out how to safely pour those 30 gallons of wax from up above our 4-ft candle jar.

Originally this was all gonna be behind the scenes stuff, but next thing you know we’re doing small scale tests at home before the trip, filming things just in case, and we were like hey… we should make this a video! And I’m so glad we decided to! It ended up introducing a lot of interesting challenges and I think it’ll be fun for Safiya fans too to see some of the behind the scenes.
