Chunk 2 is almost done everybody

Hey guys! So after a lot of work essentially starting over from scratch, CHUNK 2 IS IN RESIN i repeat CHUNK 2 IS IN RESIN. We actually got him in there before we left for TwitchCon. We did a bunch of things differently this time around to keep Chunk 2 cooler (lowered the fridge temp, inserted a pre-cured resin column to offset the total resin we needed to use in the big pour, and filled the fridge with water to keep it cooler).

To rewind for a sec, back to the morning after resining Chunk 1, we checked in on him and he was getting warpy already (not to mention the bubbles releasing from him!). I’ll include a photo for reference:

And guess what… we checked in on Chunk 2 the morning after his resining, and he was still looking perfect! No bubbles! No warping! He was a beautiful boy!

But then we got back from TwitchCon and demolded him and he looks… quite different now. It’s like he pulled away from the resin since it cured more slowly or something, giving him a ghostly sheen. We still need to do a final coat of resin on him to clear him up, let’s hope he looks ok!
