Update on the pumpkins
Added 2023-10-06 19:36:47 +0000 UTCHey y’all! Thanks again for naming Chunk (our resin pumpkin) and Dingus (our control pumpkin). We’ve been filming for that video and having too much fun saying both those names. So we wanted to give y’all a little update on how they’re both doing.
We carved both of them and Dingus has been hanging out in our “time lapse station” aka a cabinet with lighting inside (bonus Meatball and Bean cameo in the photo below, Evan used them as models when he set up the time lapse)
After (many) struggles we were able to fully cover Chunk in resin in the fridge (that in itself was a whole saga…) and he was looking pretty good!
But despite our best efforts to prevent thermal runaway, Chunk still overheated and the resin got warpy and weird…
Once he was cured we took him out of the fridge, and we’ll demold him soon. But I’m not sure if he’s gonna be salvageable :(

2023-10-15 15:04:57 +0000 UTCI think this might be the excuse evan needs to get a scientific water chiller, chest freezers can only remove so much heat due to the way they chill the walls and rely on radiation and convection to then chill the contents. you could possibly make something more active with a higher heat removal potential with a scientific water chiller pc radiators and fans and some insulation foam
