The resin test that WON’T be in the video (Mini Vlog #67)

Good news, the silicone molds turned our great! We were about to move onto the final resin pour when we realized we had a few more tests/practice runs we wanted to do. Now, for the flow of the video, we worried this might get repetitive so we weren’t gonna film it at all. Then we realized it might be a fun “mini vlog” to share with you guys! We also wanted to include a few photos of close ups that we didn’t film. So in photo 1, you can see the “horizontal mold” clouds we tried making (to practice the “horizontal” clouds we’d need to do in the sword handle pieces)

In photo 2, you can see a side view of the vertical molds we used to try making a pink-to-blue gradient (and get some more cloud practice in)

In photo 3 you can also see the white “dirty pour” technique we tested for the cloud handguard we mentioned. We may also consider doing that white dirty pour for the handle pieces instead of more clouds.

Finally, here’s how the pieces turned out when we demolded them! Isn’t it weird how the blue basically disappeared and everything turned purple/pink?

I love the hanging out vibe of this mini blog. I would definitely enjoy more content like this! It’s real and chill and I like to see your idea process. Very interesting to watch artists create.

Oh wow, maybe the pink ink somehow has a special delayed/cured effect, so when it seemed too weak and you added extra, you were actually adding an excess of pink that would become apparent after curing?
