We’re taking resin keycaps to the next level…

…By making an all-resin keyboard! It’s the logical next step, right? So we’re gonna make all the keys plus the case itself out of resin. Plus it’s been one of our most requested projects. I’m really excited!

But this has been a really intimidating project… One Evan started doing research for back in August! One of the biggest challenges was figuring out how to minimize “finishing” work (sanding, polishing, etc) because we’d have 68 keys to do, so he ordered a bunch of different mold types from Etsy to see which led to the most finished product straight out of the mold, and he found these really great 1-part molds.

Choosing our color scheme was also a big ordeal haha. There’s just… infinite options.

Ultimately we decided to go for a “color block” look with different groups of keys being different colors, but even once deciding on that it took us a bunch of tries to finalize on a favorite (hint: it’s #24)

We’ve started on the keys as you can see in some of the photos, but I can’t wait to see how they look all together! Hopefully our colors work! -Katelyn
